Last week Pat Milbery and Griff Nation of the So-Gnar Creative Division were able to do it big down in Texas. Pat, DJ LP and his dog Tora initially ventured down to Houston to set up and manage our creative and interactive Art Lounge at the Zumiez Couch Tour. After another successful day of hanging with kids, parents, skaters and artist from that region, Pat and Griff made sure that wasn’t the only mark they were going to make on Texas territory.
You can say it was perfect timing, because Pat and Griff just so happened to be around for The Extremity Games that was held at the Texas Ski Ranch where they saw our Team Rider Nathan Beels aka “Wakeskate Nate” win first place. Read more about Nate here.
The Texas Ski Ranch in conjunction with Wahoo’s Fish Taco welcomed Pat and Griff with open arms. There are a handful of Wahoo’s Fish Taco restaurants with So-Gnar art on the inside and outside of their buildings, but the one down at Texas Ski Ranch was one we had yet to work on. As soon as Pat and Griff spotted a wall that could use a So-Gnar touch up, automatically came out the wheat paste sheets, paint markers and Plutonium spray paint and they got to work.
This mural in particular was unique, because it turned into a collaboration piece with fellow artists Drew Kressin and Chase Kotzebue whos styles fit in perfectly with the type of display they were going for.
We think it’s safe to say this piece of art could not of turned out any better. Check out the photos below, and click on them to see the full size.
