If you’re up for a great live show and you want to hang with the So-Gnar crew, we will all be in the house tonight at the Bluebird Theater in Denver for the Neon Indian show. Last time these guys were in town, they rocked 12,000 people during the Westword Music Showcase when we had A Truck Named Art on site.
If you’re not sure what you’re missing out on, check out the track below.

Here is an all time classic from the west coast from the Pharcyde crew. The track ” Passin Me By” comes to us of the album entitled “Bizarre Ride 2.” I had to dig deep for this vid and actually hadn’t seen it before. I must say that although the quality isn’t that great, I do like how it maintains that old school feel! I hope yall enjoy this weeks throwback Thursday track! Untill next time- Griff
Yo yo here we have an ill compilation of fresh Dubstep beats all mixed up by Colorado’s own DJ Vajra! This man is a master at what he does and presents us with an incredible Dubstep mix-tape strategically put together to destroy some speakers and get the party kicked in to full throttle! From Dire Straights, to LL cool J, to Caspa, Vajra touches across a wide spectrum of genres to create this beast of a mix! Be sure to Download this album FREE of charge and SHARE it with your crew or maybe your local barista at Star Bucks… I don’t know… Enjoy- Griff
California is always an interesting place. It’s filled with tons of unique and different kinds of people. During our Shred Circuit stop at Mt. High, there were more than just a couple characters. With a super fun setup and some insanely good snowboarders, this competition was a fun one to watch and judge. Brendon Simmons came out and destroyed the competition though with incredible style and a sick bag of tricks. Be sure to come see him tear sh!t up at Winter Park during the Shred Circuit Contest Series Finals on Saturday, April 7th.

Please join us this weekend for the So-Gnar Shred Circuit finals at Winter Park Colorado this Saturday, April 7th. There will be the Shred Circuit last chance Qualifier, and then the Shred Circuit finals. The day will also feature a FREE performance by Michal Menert of Pretty Lights Music, local Hip Hop artist Input, and DJ A-ray.
The Shred Circuit is a 12-stop amateur creative contest series that was NEW for the 2011-2012 season. Each stop was a 1-day contest in conjunction with SO-GNAR’s Mighty Midwest Snowboard Camp Tour.
“The Shred Circuit is all about having 100% fun while snowboarding” says founder and professional snowboarder Pat Milbery. “We have been hosting community based snowboard camps for the past 5 years at resorts all over the country and we have noticed the absence of creative, good energy through large groups of kids snowboarding together” Milbery says, “The Shred Circuit is a great outlet for the next generation of snowboarder’s to expand the creative limits of snowboarding with their friends and receive national exposure!”
The contest features include unique custom jib features, presented by the Tour Sponsors that will be set-up to cater to all ability levels. The heats will be broken down into 25 riders per heat with a total of 15 minutes to hit as many of the features as time allows. The top 3 of each heat will advance into a final 20-minute jam together with prizes awarded to the top 3 riders. Judging, by the pro’s will be based upon the rider’s style, creativity, attitude and consistency through a session style format. 12 of the finalists placed first at their respective Shred Circuit heat across the country and were flown out to Colorado to compete in the finals courtesy of Zumiez.

Long before I went on tour, I didn’t even know it was possible to snowboard in Ohio. Luckily this year I got the chance to go out there and realize how much fun it is to snowboard there and also how good all the kids are. We held our Mighty Midwest Tour stop and Shred Circuit Contest Series stop at Mad River, Ohio, Louie Vito’s home mountain. This competition was an insanely close one but Taylor McGohen destroyed with creativity and going big. Taylor qualified but unfortunately wasn’t able to make it out here so to take his place is Dallas Ball. Dallas was the runner up from Mad River and he has an incredible style. Be sure to come see him rip at Winter Park during the Shred Circuit Contest Series Finals Saturday, April 7th and cheer him on.

Meet Oliver Dixon. This kid is a character to say the least as you can tell by his picture. Oliver has an extremely creative style which contributed to his win at the Otsego Club in Michigan. He also destroys and is one of my favorite people to watch snowboarding. If you ever get the chance to hang out with this kid don’t pass it up. Some of the things he says are ridiculous. Be sure to come see Oliver compete at the Shred Circuit Contest Series Finals on Saturday, April 7th, at Winter Park, Colorado.

Here is a video recap from The Hundred party at Beauty Bar in Denver. The event featured Gina Turner and So-Gnar’s DJ A-ray opened up for her. It was an amazing night, the crowd showed up in force, it was packed all night! Now we need A-ray to pump out another FREE mixtape. eh? More to come on this.
Meet Mitch Schmidt. Mitch followed us around a couple stops in hopes to win the trip to Colorado for finals. Well at Cannonsburg, Michigan, that came true when Mitch slayed every feature and took best overall. With help from our good friend Marc Moline, and a huge area to work with, we knew this competition would be full of bangers. And thanks to Mitch and the rest of the awesome competitors, this was one of my favorite Shred Circuit stops. Be sure to come see Mitch go hard again during the Shred Circuit Contest Series Finals on Saturday, April 7th at Winter Park and cheer him on!
